Course Description
This course will introduce students to the Spanish language and its cultures. Basic Spanish grammar such as the present tense, the past tense, the present progressive, basic commands, definite and indefinite objects, regular and irregular verbs, and basic Spanish vocabulary will be covered in this class. In addition, the study of various cultures found in the Spanish speaking world will be emphasized during this course.

Class Rules:

Respect is integral in any learning environment, and I expect students to follow the rules outlined in the Student Handbook as well as the rules that I have established for this class. If a student breaks one of these rules, he or she will sign the Discipline Log. Three signatures in this book results in an immediate detention. Students must comply with the following rules:

  1. Arrive on time with all necessary materials.
  2. No food, drink, or gum unless permission is given by the teacher.
  3. Students may not talk out of turn.
  4. Students must stay seated until given permission to get up.
  5. Students must tuck their shirts in.
  6. Above all, students must show respect for their teacher, their fellow students, and themselves.

Grading Procedure
Grades will be based on the following criteria:
10% Homework
